Coronavirus (COVID-19)
March 15, 2020
As we are all aware, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is dramatically affecting our daily lives. We wish to remain available to our patients, as long as we can do so in a healthy, safe environment and in accordance with state, local and federal guidance.
We are adjusting our schedule in these challenging times; please be patient with us. Beginning 03/17/2020, we will be open Monday-Thursday from 8-5pm and Friday 8-4pm in all of our offices. The schedule is still subject to change as the situation evolves. We are encouraging our patients to call ahead and please do not walk in without an appointment.
As a medical facility, we already practice “universal precautions” to protect ourselves and our patients against any kind of contamination, and we have reinforced these protocols.
At all of our locations, staff are trained to follow the CDC guidelines to limit the spread of the virus, including how we interact with and protect patients and how we disinfect waiting areas, exam rooms, and diagnostic equipment in between patients. We have increased the frequency of our disinfecting protocols and are constantly sanitizing our equipment to maintain its sterility.
We do, however, have a few requests to help keep our patients and staff safe:
• To minimize the number of people in our waiting rooms, please do not bring friends or relatives with you, unless they are necessary for your care and are symptom-free.
• If you have a fever or are feeling ill with flu symptoms, please call us. We will gladly reschedule your appointment.
• Please follow the CDC’s recommended advice (below)
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available
- Avoid close contact with sick people
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a household cleaning spray or wipe.
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask to protect themselves from respiratory illnesses, including the flu and COVID-19. Face masks should be used by people who show symptoms of these diseases to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. However, in the event of asymptomatic patients, we ask that all patients wear a mask in the office.
If you develop life-threatening conditions such as severe shortness of breath, changes in mental status, severe dehydration, or other complications, don’t hesitate to dial 911.
